The pieces

You have received an invitation for the annual masked ball at Darkwood Castle? Congratulations and welcome to the noble highlight of the Scottish ball season, garnished by a delicious 4-course menu!

The guest costume with the most extravagant mask will be awarded! We are in the year 1895 and Lady Augusta II, Marquise of Oakland, is holding court. Everyone has come: Celebrities, artists, bohemians of every hue, nobles, politicians, famous actresses, singers and adventurers who know how to disguise their debauchery and merriment behind sophisticated masks.

But also two gentlemen from 221b Baker Street, better known as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, are expected. However, the former has not yet arrived. The hostess, however, sincerely hopes for his appearance, especially since it was she herself who asked him for help. Her husband, Edward the Xll. Lord Ashtonburry, is staying where he usually stays: In London, at the House of Lords or at his secret favourite club, Diogenes. His wife Augusta feels neglected and is now all the more devoted to her passion for grand parties and her secretary. But now the Marquise is being blackmailed and the perpetrator threatens to strike at the party. When in the course of the evening a murder actually takes place, it even seems that the curse of the Ashtonburrys would be fulfilled once again.

But behind which mask lurks death? Or are supernatural forces at work here...? Sherlock Holmes has to make a decision, but: "Once you have ruled out the impossible, whatever remains must be the truth - however improbable it may sound." The game is afoot... and you are in it!

Welcome to the birthday party! Lord Ashtonburry, wealthy landlord at Darkwood Castle - a venerable manor house in Scotland - is celebrating his 60th birthday.

In the circle of his family and supported by the members of the Pudding Club, an association for the preservation of Scottish customs, the party is celebrated and an exquisite 4-course menu is served. Friends, companions from times gone by, all the great and good, come together to celebrate this celebration.

But a dark shadow from the past wants revenge and puts a terrible curse on Lord Ashtonburry. Will the curse be fulfilled? What victims will the dark shadow claim?

The dinner guests become part of the Ashtonburry family and can help with the investigation.

Welcome to the reading of the will! On the occasion of the funeral service for the wealthy owner of the castle, Lord Ashtonburry, relatives and kinsmen gather at the ancestral seat of the Ashtonburry family.

Lady Asthonburry, the grieving widow, welcomes the invited guests to the dining room of Darkwood Castle, a venerable manor house in Scotland, for a funeral feast and the reading of the will. What happens during the course of the delicate 4-course menu gives an inkling of mysterious entanglements. Would it be the undoing of one of the relatives? Did the lord really die a natural death or did he stumble upon his rapacious nephew, his illegitimate daughter or does Lady Ashtonburry perhaps have something to hide?

The investigation into the case brings to light long-kept family secrets and intrigues, culminating in mutual suspicion. Who has the Lord favoured in his will and who will come away empty-handed?

The legendary wild boar hunt across the moor, the highlight of the Scottish hunting season, comes to a close with a big game feast at a mysterious castle. But this time the invitation does not go to Darkwood Castle, the ancestral seat of the Ashtonburry's, but to an elegant hunting lodge in the neighbourhood.

However, none of the invited guests knows who the new owner is; the manor house stood empty for years. Since - yes, since the tragic disappearance of its last occupant.
A dark secret seems to cast a spell over the place and, like the Black Moor, the roots of the past stretch all the way to the Ashtonburry's estate. Can Bourke, Chief Inspector (ret.), solve the secret before his fiancée, Lady Ashtonburry, falls under the spell of this old legend?
Why was the hunting horn chained to the wall? And who is the mysterious host?

Perhaps the dinner guests will be able to solve these mysteries to break the spell...
Because one thing is certain, she will continue: "The hunt from the Black Moor" ...

At the wedding celebration of Cora, daughter of the late Lord Ashtonburry, relatives and relatives gather at the Ashtonburry family ancestral seat. Lady Ashtonburry, Cora's stepmother, welcomes the invited guests in the dining room of Darkwood Castle, a venerable manor house in Scotland.

Cora Tilling celebrates her long-awaited marriage to Peter Ross. Some members of the family are not at all enthusiastic about it. They are doing everything in their power to stop young fortune from getting off the ground. The wedding gifts are littered with foul suspicions. What happens during the course of the delicate 4-course wedding menu allows for a lot of speculation: How did the groom, who usually gambles away all his money, come to be so rich? What secret does the destitute bride hide? Why does the otherwise so reliable priest take so long?

But don't worry, of course nobody will get hurt at a wedding. Or maybe they do!?

Welcome to the auction!

The invited guests will be seated in the dining room of Darkwood Castle, a venerable manor house in Scotland, ancestral seat of those of Ashtonburry. The castle is to be auctioned, because the maintenance costs are no longer affordable.

Mysterious rumours are circulating... What's the truth in the story that the IV. Lord Ashtonburry is said to have walled up a treasure in the walls of the estate with his unfaithful wife and her slain lover? Does the legendary spirit of the House of Ashtonburry really exist? Does it even leave the damp crypt at night to protect its final resting place and bring the guilty to justice?

Questions that will be answered eerily during the course of the delicate four-course dinner...

Welcome to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot! On the legendary race course near Windsor, a lot of celebrities are expected on the day of the big hats. Are you a member of the Upper Class, member of the Ashtonburry family or even royal blood and part of the royal family? Then we invite you to an exquisite 4-course menu at this famous horse race!

Do you place your bets in a trifecta or do you have a secret favourite and go for a win? Luck is certainly on your side - but beware, death is on the turf...

Cora Tilling arrives at the Ascot racecourse on Ladies Day to pay her first visit to her hereditary uncle, Lord Mant. The wealthy lord has a hot favourite at the start of the Gold Cup: "Satan" is the name of the unruly wonder horse, which - believe the rumours of the bookies - is ridden by the devil himself. And soon Satan lives up to his name: during training he throws off his jockey and the jockey dies. Was it really just an accident?

But that's not all: When another murder is committed, Cora herself is in mortal danger and suddenly becomes the main suspect. In her distress she calls Richard Bourke, her stepmother's long-term fiancé. Will the former chief inspector of Scotland Yard succeed in finding the culprit before it is too late for Cora?

Einem Rennpferd traut niemand etwas Böses zu… Oder liegt doch ein Fluch auf Satan, der auch der „Teufel der Rennbahn“ genannt wird?
